How the online notepad auto-save works

The notepad saves your text to your browser's localStorage — a private storage area that exists in your browser on your device. Notes are saved automatically 600ms after you stop typing. The badge in the top-left corner changes from "📝 Auto-saves to your browser" to "✓ Saved" to confirm each save. Your notes persist even if you close the tab, restart your browser, or restart your computer. They are only lost if you clear your browser data, use incognito/private mode, or switch to a different browser or device.

Toolbar buttons

• ☑️ Select All — selects all text in the notepad in one click (Ctrl+A equivalent)
• 📋 Copy All — copies all notes to your clipboard without needing to select first
• ⬇️ Download — saves your notes as a my-notes.txt file to your Downloads folder for a permanent backup
• 🗑️ Clear — removes all notes (asks for confirmation before clearing)

Open your notes in AI

After writing your notes, use the 🤖 ChatGPT, ✦ Gemini, or ◆ Claude AI buttons to send your notes to an AI for summarising, editing, translating, or expanding. Every button does exactly the same thing: your notes are copied to your clipboard and the AI opens in a new tab. Whether or not the text auto-fills in the chat box, just press Ctrl+V (or ⌘V on Mac) to paste — your text is always ready. This works perfectly in every scenario, whether auto-fill works or not. You never need to copy anything manually.
